Beadnell - Northumberland Coast
Located just south of Seahouses, Beadnell is one of the Northumberland coast's 'gems'. A former, busy fishing port, Beadnell has lots to offer visitors to the area.
Beadnell Bay has a beautiful, long and wide sandy beach that sweeps South towards a skyline of rocky headland dominated by the magnificent, medieval ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. Anyone interested in medieval history will love the area for there are several other, world famous medieval castles within reasonable distance including Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle and Warkworth Castle.
Beadnell harbour faces due west and is notably the only one on the entire East coast of England that technically does so. It is characterized by 2 old lime kilns from the 19th century which have been preserved as reminders of the area's industrial heritage.
One of Beadnell's more contemporary achievements is that it has become an established centre for water sports enthusiasts - windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing and scuba diving are all enjoyed here. The sea on this part of the Northumberland coast is renowned for its clarity and the beaches for their cleanliness. Other outdoor activities enjoyed by visitors to Beadnell include sea angling, golf and horse riding. It is no surprise, therefore, that our holiday cottages in Beadnell are in great demand year upon year.
