Holiday Cottage Description

This charming stone cottage attached to the owner’s house, lies in the tiny hamlet of Little Bavington surrounded by beautiful countryside in a relatively undiscovered part of Northumberland. There are a number of footpaths nearby, and an abundance of local wildlife to see. Chester’s fort at Chollerford is the nearest point of Hadrian's Wall; it has the remains of the finest military bath house in Britain and is just a 10 minute drive. To the west are the major forts of Vindolanda, Housesteads and Sycamore Gap near Steel Rigg, a lonely tree standing in a dip along the Wall. This location can be seen in the movie Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. Belsay with its neo-classical hall, 14th century castle and delightful gardens is 8 miles. The National Trust property of Wallington Hall and the historic towns of Corbridge and Hexham are within 10 miles. Beamish Open Air Museum and Newcastle are also within easy reach.
