Holiday Cottage Description

This impressive former water bailiff’s cottage lies at the heart of the owner's 135 acre farm in a stunning location in upper Coquetdale. Converted with style, imagination and great attention to detail, it has superb views to the south over the Simonside Hills and to the east over the Rothbury Hills whilst in the foreground the meandering Wreigh Burn runs through the farm. Visitors are welcome to explore the farm, much of which is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is home to a host of birdlife as well as otters, badgers and foxes. There are trout in the burn and a good run of salmon twice a year. Despite the farm's complete seclusion Rothbury, with all its amenities, is just 3 miles and Thropton 1 mile. This is magnificent countryside for walking and cycling. Horse riding and fishing are available nearby. Alnwick is 12 miles, the coast 16 miles.
