Holiday Cottage Description

This unusual timber clad property stands in its own garden within the grounds of an historic house, reputedly with origins dating back to Viking times. Once the gardener's residence, it has been carefully restored to provide a most cosy and romantic retreat. Nestling at the foot of the Cheviot Hills, on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, it is surrounded by superb countryside. A stile leads from the garden directly onto the fells and an abundance of local footpaths makes this an ideal location for walkers and mountain bikers. The beautiful Harthope Valley is just up the road with access from there to Cheviot itself, whilst to the east is the attractive Till Valley. Chillingham Castle is 8 miles and the coast is just 20 minutes by car. There are numerous castles, stately homes and historic sites within easy distance. The market town of Wooler is 1 mile. Golf, horse riding and bike hire nearby.
