Holiday Cottage Description
This superbly renovated farmhouse nestles on the slopes of Cheviot and is surrounded by most beautiful and totally unspoilt scenery and an abundance of wildlife. The peace and tranquillity of the College Valley is unsurpassed, access to the area is restricted and there is little to spoil the enjoyment of what must be the quietest place in Northumberland. Visitors can walk out in every direction and spend a day in the hills in the knowledge that every comfort awaits their return, as the cottage is very well appointed and equipped. This is truly an idyllic hideaway, accessed by a single track road, the nearest habitation being some distance away. College Valley is a private estate running north from Cheviot. There are four letting houses, a YHA youth hostel and a well equipped Community Hall which is licensed for weddings and other functions. It is possible to book the whole Valley for events. Wooler is 12 miles. The coast 20 miles. Riding and bike hire available locally. Stalking and livery for own horse by arrangement. During the winter months if there is suddenly a large snow fall it may become necessary to cancel holidays and transfer to another date but this is only on rare occasions with extreme conditions. The estate office reserves the right to make a decision on this.
This is an unusually isolated and remote holiday cottage which is ideal for groups or family bookings.

- The estate generally closes the houses in the College Valley for December and January because of the difficulty in accessing the remote houses in bad weather but if the weather is mild they may take bookings, check with our office.
