Holiday Cottage Description

Situated close to the centre of Warkworth, this mews house provides comfortable accommodation and is within a short stroll of the shops, cafes, pubs and galleries of this picturesque and historic village. There are several clean, sandy beaches and coastal walks within a short distance. Warkworth is overlooked by the massive remains of an impressive mediaeval castle and stands in a delightful setting, almost completely surrounded by the River Coquet. During the summer months rowing boats are available for hire, providing a unique means of enjoying the magnificent riverside scenery. The castle was once one of the Percy family's strongholds. It dominates the skyline and can be seen from all approaches to the village. This is an area characterised by natural peace and beauty and is one of the few remaining haunts of the red squirrel. Alnwick Castle and Gardens only 6 miles as well as many sporting activities such as walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding and golf all available locally.
