Holiday Cottage Description

Adjacent to magnificent gardens and grounds this truly superb cottage, attached to the owner’s country house, stands on the site of what was in mediaeval times the Hospitium of the Knights Hospitallers of St Johns of Jerusalem. Holidaymakers have access to the banks of the river Coquet where private fishing is available, and to a large pond with decking and tennis court. Thropton lies in the beautiful Coquet Valley 2 miles west of Rothbury, overlooking the Simonside Hills and just outside the Northumberland National Park, the whole area providing magnificent scenery and miles of pathways for walking and cycling. Rothbury is referred to as The capital of Coquetdale, this picturesque town has a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants and some beautiful riverside walks. Cragside is 3 miles, the coast 15 miles and Kielder Water 20 miles. Golf course 1 mile.
