Holiday Cottage Description

Burnfoot Holiday Cottages are an exclusive collection of self catering accommodation located in tranquil open countryside in the beautiful Coquet Valley close to Thropton. Until very recently Burnfoot was a working farm, the main buildings were used to store grain and house the livestock. All farming activity ceased in 2005 due to the fact the buildings were not suited to cope with modern farming methods. The development was completed in 2009 with the end result being 14 beautifully appointed, well designed, contemporary styled cottages accommodating from 2 to 10 guests in the lap of luxury. The superb conversion offers the perfect blend of original character and modern conveniences. The exterior of the buildings have been sympathetically converted to retain much of the original architectural and historical integrity. Inside, the cottages are oozing character, boasting many features including exposed beams, oak doors with antique latch ironmongery and high quality fixtures and fittings. To the northern side of the farm steading is a large lawned area providing a safe child friendly environment for running and playing. Guests are welcome to use the tarmac tennis court on site. The gardens around the cottages are well maintained with some of the cottages having private lawned areas in which to relax on warm summer evenings. Thropton is 4 miles and has a village shop and pub serving good food.
