Description

Belford Townhouse is a 17th Century, Grade II listed property located in the centre of the pretty village of Belford, within the market square - the hub of activity all year round in the village.  Although the house has three bedrooms when it is booked for a couple you get the use of one of the bedrooms. The rooms are generously proportioned with fantastic views from all rooms (including a distant sea view) and within a 10 minute drive of the stunning beach at Bamburgh. Exceptional care and attention has been paid during the recent renovation works - from the hand painted country kitchen to the restored antique furniture featured throughout the property. Externally Belford Townhouse has access both to the market square via the front of the property, and rear access to the garden and parking area. The garden features a secure patio and lawned area with parking for 2/3 cars and private gate. This stretch of nearby Northumberland coastline boasts over 30 miles of pristine white sand perfect for making sandcastles, exploring rock pools, hidden coves and deep sheltered dunes ideal for romantic picnics, or watching stunning sunsets on a balmy summer evening. The region is steeped in history and boasts many wonderful castles including Bamburgh, Warkworth, Dunstanburgh, and Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Holy Island can be reached by a causeway at low tide. It is internationally famous both for its medieval religious heritage and also its more recent picturesque 16th century castle. The Cheviot Hills to the west provide fantastic trails for walking and mountain biking terrain, and are easily reached along quiet country roads. Chillingham Castle, noted to be the most haunted castle in England and the ancient herd of wild white cattle are a short drive. Golf, angling and horse riding are available locally. Alnwick to the south and Berwick to the north are 15 miles, both provide excellent shopping and leisure facilities.

Ground floor - Large entrance hall (shared access) leading to first floor accommodation.  Ample storage space for cycles/pushchairs etc.

First floor - A generously proportioned, bright and airy lounge with flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD and BOSE IPod Dock and views over the market square. 

Well equipped kitchen/diner with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge with ice box and washing machine. 

Bathroom with over bath electric shower and WC.

Second floor - Bedroom 1 - Double bed, views of the square/countryside. 

Bedroom 2 - Double bed, distant sea views across fields. 

Bedroom 3 - Twin beds, view of the square. 

All bedrooms have original, exposed beams and dormer windows.

WHEN BOOKING COTTAGE FOR 2 PEOPLE YOU GET THE USE OF ONE BEDROOM AND CAN CHOOSE A DOUBLE ROOM OR A TWIN ROOM.

Electricity included.  Gas central heating.  Gas for heating and cooking supplied via pre-paid card meter with £25 credit for a week’s stay.  Additional gas cards can be purchased from the local Co-op in Belford.  Shaver point.  Travel cot and highchair.  Enclosed garden to rear with patio area and garden furniture.  Off road parking for 2 cars to rear.  Shop/pubs/restaurants in village.  Duvets with linen and towels.  2 pets welcome by arrangement @ £15 per pet per week.  (Allowed in entrance hall and kitchen area only)
