Number Twenty Eight | Luxury Holiday Cottage in Craster

Written by Northumbria Byways on

Just a stone’s throw from the sea, Number Twenty Eight is a luxurious holiday cottage in Craster, one of the hidden treasures of the Northumberland Coast. This gem of a property sleeps six, and has availability from Friday 21 July until New Year. See below for photos:

Number Twenty Eight is a semi-detached cottage that has been completely refurbished and decorated to an excellent standard. The contemporary styling is enhanced with original artwork of Craster and the surrounding area. Glimpses of the sea can be caught from most windows and the completely enclosed garden, which has a built-in barbecue and wooden patio furniture to enjoy alfresco dining.

Downstairs the open plan layout creates a bright, airy ambience, the comfortable sofa and large armchair are perfect for relaxing after a coastal walk. The dining area is flooded with light from the French doors that lead out to the garden, while the kitchen is very well equipped, with a good range of utensils to create a culinary delight.

On the first floor are three double bedrooms – two of which have drawers and large wardrobes, with plenty of hanging space – and a family bathroom.

Spectacular sea views and walks abound in this area, with the coastal footpath between Beadnell and Alnmouth passing through the village, and the dramatic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle providing a striking backdrop to Craster harbour. The splendid sandy beaches at Embleton and Howick are a pleasant 1.5 mile walk or drive away, in either direction.

After working up an appetite, you can dine on the world-famous Craster kippers – still prepared in the village in the traditional way, and reputedly one of the favourites of the British Royal Family.
