Seahouses

Written by Northumbria Byways on

Seahouses is a bustling fishing village located on the Northumberland coast between Beadnell and Bamburgh. It is a popular tourist destination due to its various attractions and beautiful sandy beaches.

Things to do in Seahouses

Seahouses is host to an Aladdin’s cave of gift shops packed with souvenirs, chip shops offering delicious freshly cooked fish, arcade amusements and a mini golf course. There is also a 9 hole golf course, horse riding centre and a surfing school.

To find out more about the fishing history of the village, you can take a trip to the Swallow Fish smokehouse and visit the Fisherman’s Kitchen where a large display of historic fishing photographs and articles adorn the walls.

The village is known as the ‘Gateway to the Farnes’ – you can easily board a boat from Seahouses’ harbour to take a guided trip to the Farne Islands, a place renowned for its spectacular wildlife and breathtaking views.

Alternatively, you can walk along the beach and explore the rock pools and dunes, or enjoy a relaxing bike ride along the stunning Northumberland coastline. If you need to hire a bike or other sporting equipment during your stay, click here for more information.
