We have many luxurious properties with a hot tub to enjoy, so why not treat your partner this Valentine’s Day with a special break in one of our cosy cottages made for two? Our romantic retreats provide the perfect place to enjoy a cosy candlelit dinner, champagne in front of a roaring fire and a relaxing dip in the hot tub under the stars!

We also have larger hot tub properties that are perfectly suited to large groups and families. Pet friendly options are available too!

Hadrian’s Wall –  Tottergill Farm Cottages

The following cottages are part of Tottergill Farm Cottages, comprised of 10 luxurious stone cottages skilfully converted from former farm buildings. Nestled on the slopes of Castle Carrock Fell to the north of the Eden Valley.  The Eden Valley is a hidden gem with countless footpaths and bridleways scattered across the entire region. There are walks to suit all abilities from leisurely strolls along the banks of the River Eden as it meanders north through picturesque villages until it reaches the historic Border City of Carlisle.  Or energetic hikes up Cross Fell, the highest point of the Pennines Hills, to witness the tranquil solitude of this area known as “England’s Last Wilderness”.

Carlisle, 13 miles, has a wide range of shops, an award winning Tullie House Museum, a castle and a cathedral. There are plenty of attractions to delight all ages including a visit to Hadrian’ Wall to learn more about the Roman Empire or go mountain biking, fishing, sailing and horse riding. Keen golfers can enjoy year round games of golf on Brampton Golf Course described as ‘the jewel of Cumbria’ only 2 miles away. The clubhouse is open to the general public and serves excellent food.  Across the road from the clubhouse is Talkin Tarn Country Park where you can hire a rowing boat or take a relaxing circular walk around the tarn, then reward yourself with a cup of tea and a slice of cake. An extra bonus while staying at Tottergill Farm Cottages is complimentary access to a leisure club at a local hotel 10 miles away.

Oak Cottage, Brampton (sleeps 2):  Oak Cottage is a luxury character cottage and has been beautifully converted from part of an existing Grade II listed stone barn. Sleeping 2 it is perfect for a romantic getaway any time of the year. It is on a first floor level and offers breathtaking views across the reservoir to Carlisle and the Solway Firth.

It features a spacious living area complete with wood burning stove, 42″ flatscreen TV with Blueray/DVD player, doors out to its own private enclosed garden with patio, a hot tub and a barbecue so guests can sit back and enjoy the gorgeous views. Well equipped kitchen with cooker, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The bedroom has a super king-size bed, TV and iPod docking station and en-suite shower room and WC.

Gill Cottage, Brampton (sleeps 2): Gill Cottage is a gorgeously cosy cottage, just for two, complete with its own private hot tub with beautiful views of the reservoir and the Lake District hills. It is a pet-friendly property and features an open plan lounge full of charm and character and boasts exposed beams with a wood burning stove, 40” HD TV, DVD and Bluetooth enabled sound system.

Double patio doors lead out onto an enclosed garden with private hot tub, garden furniture and barbecue. Gelt Cottage, Brampton (sleeps 4): Gelt Cottage has its own private hot tub, offering spectacular views of the reservoir and across open fields to the Lake District.  It’s pet friendly too!

The ground floor features a lounge and dining area with character and features exposed original beams and a wood burning stove, 42” LCD TV with Freeview, DVD and an iPod dock.  Double patio doors lead out into an enclosed south-facing garden with furniture and a decked area with a hot tub, offering stunning views towards the Lake District. The kitchen is equipped with granite worktops, gas hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.

On the first floor bedroom 1 features a super king-size bed with TV and DVD. Bedroom 2 has a king-size bed which can be twin beds. There is also a bathroom with over bath shower and WC.

Garth Cottage, Brampton (sleeps 4): Garth Cottage has its own enclosed garden, private deck with a hot tub and breath-taking panoramic views south towards the Lake District and west over the reservoir to the Solway Firth and Scottish hills. On the ground floor you’ll find an open plan living, dining and kitchen area with character features and original beams. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.  The lounge has an LCD TV with Freeview, 3D Blueray/DVD and a Bluetooth enabled sound system.  Two sets of double patio doors lead out to enclosed garden complete with patio furniture and barbecue.

There are two bedrooms on the first floor. Bedroom 1 features a king-size bed, LCD TV and DVD. Bedroom 2 is equipped with twin beds. There is also a bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC.

Tower Barn Cottage, Brampton (sleeps 6): Tower Barn is part of a beautiful Grade II listed building and absolutely packed full of character and unusual architectural features. It offers a second floor viewing gallery at the top of its tower, a dining room with a glass front and a Juliet balcony on the first floor, overlooking the reservoir and across to the hills of the Lake District. The ground floor features a bedroom with a super king-size bed and en-suite wet room. Bedroom 2 has a double bed, zip and links beds can be made into twin beds, and bedroom 3 has twin beds. There is also a bathroom with over bath shower and WC.

On the first floor you will find an open plan lounge/dining room with a wood burning stove, a 50″ flat screen TV with 3D Blueray/DVD Player and Bluetooth enabled surround sound. The well equipped kitchen has a cooker, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Door leads out to its own private enclosed garden complete with a hot tub overlooking our stunning views, has ample parking and is pet-friendly too!

Watson Cottage, Brampton (sleeps 6): Part of a converted Grade II listed barn, this luxury five star cottage accommodates up to six guests and has its own private jacuzzi hot tub. It has been finished to an exceptional standard, with granite worktops and solid oak doors and is incredibly spacious. The first floor is composed on an open plan kitchen, dining and living area enabling guests to make the most of the breathtaking views across the reservoir to Carlisle and the Solway Firth. The living room has a log burning stove, a 50″ TV with home cinema surround sound system and a DVD Player. Double patio doors lead out on to an enclosed garden complete with a jacuzzi hot tub.

The first floor also features a bedroom with double bed, zip and link beds can be twin beds, en-suite shower room and WC, LCD TV and iPod docking station. It is wheelchair accessible and is on the same level as the living space.

Ground floor has a two bedrooms, one with twin beds, zip and link beds can be double bed, en-suite bathroom and WC, LCD TV and iPod docking station. The other bedroom has a double bed, zip and link beds can be twin beds, en-suite bathroom and WC, LCD TV and iPod docking station.

Mill Barn Cottage, Brampton (sleeps 6): Mill Barn cottage is an outstanding pet-friendly cottage packed with character. Its features including exposed beams and a fully restored water wheel. Located in an ideal location for larger families and groups, it boasts its own balcony with fabulous views of the Lake District fells.

The first floor features a spacious open plan living area with a wood burning stove, 40” LCD TV, 3D Blueray/DVD and Bluetooth enabled sound system. There is a well-equipped kitchen with cooker, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Patio doors lead out on to private enclosed garden, large decked area with furniture and a hot tub for up to six people.

There are four bedrooms in total and two bathrooms. Bathrobes and slippers provided!

Hadrian’s Wall – Milton Mains Cottages

Situated on a working farm in the village of Milton close to the Northumbrian and Cumbrian border, nestling in the foothills of the North Pennines, The Stable, The Byre and The Dairy are a row of three stone built cottages and Swallow, Swift, The Barn & The Hayloft Cottages are all skilfully converted from farm buildings and an old dairy. During the restoration many original features like beamed ceilings and exposed stonework have been carefully retained.

The cottages provide a superb base from which to explore this region. Here you will find wild fells, stunning views and peaceful walks under big skies. Hadrian’s Wall is nearby with the forts of Birdoswald, Housesteads and Vindolanda all within a short drive. The North Pennines are equally accessible, this area is justly described as “England’s Last Wilderness” and righty designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Part of this area is the RSPB Geltsdale Reserve, it is home to black grouse, birds of prey and breeding wading birds. It is ideal for walking with 4 way-marked trails, a parking area and a visitor centre. The market town of Brampton is just 2 miles with a good range of shops and amenities, whilst the Border City of Carlisle is just 10 miles. There are many footpaths and bridleways nearby including Gelt Woods and Talkin Tarn Country Park just 3 miles where you can enjoy sailing, rowing, fishing or relax with a picnic.

North Pennines

East Briscoe, Baldersdale (5 properties): The following stone built cottages are situated in a beautiful, peaceful south facing position on a 14 acre riverside estate with stunning views over open countryside. The original farmhouse reputedly dates back to 1713, and this together with the adjoining barns has been skilfully converted to provide excellent holiday cottages.

East Briscoe is ideally placed for exploring by foot, cycle or car the North of England’s rich history and wonderful countryside. Hadrian’s Wall and Durham Cathedral are within easy reach as are 4 National Parks. The farm is 2 miles from the Pennine Way in the dale made famous by Hannah Hauxwell and designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are sheep and chickens on the farm, marked paths through the fields and woods, a variety of wildlife to be seen including deer, kingfishers and otters, and free fishing on the River Balder.

Cotherstone is 2 miles. Barnard Castle and Bowes Museum 6 miles. Golf, tennis, bowls and horse riding are all available locally. New Leisure facility which currently boasts a 6 seater hot tub and an “Endless Pool” swimming pool with current. Games room has a pool/table tennis/air hockey table and a Gym area with accessible changing room and WC.

Mount Hooley Lodge, Alston (sleeps 8): Standing on the wooden decking in front of Mount Hooley Lodge you could almost say you were on top of the world. The panoramic views looking across the South Tyne Valley are absolutely awe-inspiring. The stand alone Canadian-style log cabin constructed from massive inter-locking logs measuring over 12 inches in diameter, a unique feature both inside and outside. The hot water and heating are produced from a ground source heat pump and the roof is covered by grass which provides excellent insulation, together making this a completely innovative eco- friendly building concept. Mount Hooley Lodge is located on a working upland hill farm, 1200 feet above sea level, on the moor above Alston, which is the highest market town in England.

For peace and tranquillity it would be difficult to find a more idyllic spot. The five star luxury can be enjoyed whatever the weather and at any time of the year. In summer the wide bi-fold patio doors to the front of the lodge can be completely opened to create a picture frame to admire the view, or you can chill out in the hot tub under the clear starry skies. In contrast during the colder winter months the log burning stove creates a warm and cosy environment to relax and recharge those batteries. Alston has an eclectic mix of shops selling local produce, unusual gift shops, cafes and pubs. This region is known as England’s last wilderness with fantastic walks along unspoilt nature trails with an abundance of wildlife to observe along the way.

Coastal

Tumbler Rocks Retreat, Seahouses (sleeps 9): This fabulous contemporary styled house is located only 150 metres from the beach and minutes from the centre of Seahouses. The deceptively spacious open plan ground floor is bright and airy with coastal inspired decor. French doors lead out to a decked garden to reveal what is almost certainly on everyone’s wish list – a hot tub. The comfortable sofas in the lounge area are carefully positioned around the log burning stove and the huge wall mounted flat screen TV.

Whilst at the other end of the room is a large dining table perfect for enjoying a family meal, cooked in the well equipped kitchen with central island. The rear garden of this holiday retreat is an excellent place to relax and unwind. The high fence around the perimeter of the garden makes it private. The hot tub benefits from a canopy providing shade in the summer or shelter if the weather is slightly inclement. There is a communal toddler play ground to the front of the house.

Brambles, Morpeth (sleeps 4): Brambles is a pet friendly static holiday home nestled in the heart of Felmoor Park just a short drive to the coast and north to the Historic market town of Alnwick famous for the Castle and Gardens. This immaculately presented holiday home is deceptively spacious and ticks all of the boxes for a romantic retreat or a family break. The interior offers excellent quality fixtures and fittings, a lavish leather suite and French doors opening onto a decked area with a lovely sunny aspect. There are steps down to a partially screened area which has comfortable patio furniture and a fabulous hot tub to relax in.

There are some lovely walks around the park passing a nature pond with resident swans, a children’s play area and a café/bar. Also in the surrounding area the many activities to enjoy or have lessons include rock climbing, surfing, microlite flights, paint balling, horse riding and kayaking. Eshott Animal Park is on the doorstep, children will love to meet the Meerkats and get up close to many other furry friends!
