A lovely property. It suited the family well and we hope to return.Mrs Margaret Dean - 12th November 2019
Brilliant property. 4 adults and 1 dog went. There is 1 superking room (or 2 singles) with en-suite wet room, 1 double room with en-suite shower room and a children's room with 2 slightly smaller beds serviced by the next door house bathroom. There's also a downstairs loo, so you should never get caught short! Milk was left in the fridge for us, and there was a little welcome pack for our dog, with a few treats, a roll of poo bags and a doggie towel. Everything is thought of here, and there's a fantastic range of books you can read during your stay - I can recommend the Agatha Christie's. Off road parking for 2 larger cars is a bonus, and you can't get much closer to the harbour! Swallow Fish round the corner is a must for breakfast kippers and the takeaways in town are good. Our third time here and hopefully not our last. - 9th April 2019
We booked this cottage for a holiday sharing with two other couples. Booking and pre arrival information was excellent. The house worked well with three bedrooms and three bathrooms though the twin room is arranged more for children sharing than adults. The house was really well equipped with everything needed to cook good meals, nice glasses etc. The central location was excellent and easy walking distance to the Main Street and a just few metres to two pubs! - 20th March 2019
The cottage was perfect. Well stocked. Clean and very pretty to look at. Everything has been thought of. Welcome packs for the dogs wee provided as well as towels. Bed rooms and bathrooms were clean and well thought out Location is excellent. Well worth a look at the harbour. Pretty much perfect. I have no negative comment ms to make. I would return in a heartbeat - 26th February 2019
First time in Northumberland and we loved it! Begas Bead was a lovely comfortable place to stay with everything you needed. It was in a great location, a few steps to the harbour and Seahouses had something for everyone. We would also recommend the Italian restaurant. We had a very enjoyable week with plenty to do and see. - 26th September 2018
My family plus dog had a wonderful week at Bega's Bead. The location was perfect and the house delightful. We had some wonderful walks on the beach and fabulous days out at Cragside House, Alnwick, Berwick and Lindisfane. Thank you for a lovely holiday. - 20th September 2018
Without question the best spacious and well equipped property we have ever stayed at. Two comfortable sitting areas, one with very efficient log burner. Ideally located for access to the harbour and centre of Seahouses. Off street car parking for two cars. - 4th September 2018
Had a fantastic holiday in this cottage. It is well equipped and well presented. Large, en-suite bedrooms, two living rooms and parking for two cars make it ideal for a family holiday, with the added bonus of being dog friendly. Ideally located close to harbour and shops. We won't hesitate to visit here again. - 21st August 2018
Bega's Bead is an L-shaped property which I guess was originally two cottages, but I can't be certain of that. It's conveniently located close to the centre of Seahouses giving easy access the beaches, harbour, restaurants and pubs. I liked the fact that it had off-road parking, and although we only had one car, it might just be possible to squeeze two in end-to-end in the parking spot. The property itself was clean and comfortable, lots of books to read. If I had any criticism, it would be that the hallway smelled a bit damp, although we didn't really notice when the door was closed, and my wife, who is a bit short to be fair (5'2") found the work surfaces in the kitchen a bit high. Myself being a tad over 6 feet didn't notice, although I did bang my head on the stone plinth over the cooker a couple of times, and it was a stretch for me to reach the back two rings on the hob. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at Bega's Bead and would recommend it . - 14th August 2018
Lovely house in brilliant location. Easy to book and pay for. Local shops and restaurants within very short walking distance and plenty of things to do in the area. Very pleased with the whole experience. - 7th August 2018
It was a fantastic holiday with everything you could need.Very comfortable with a homely feel to it in a great location. Beautiful beaches close by as well as all the necessary shops - 10th July 2018
Thanks so much for a wonderful stay in magical Seahouses. This property is clean, spacious, very well stocked with comfortable beds and squishy sofas to flip down on after long walks on the fabulous nearby beaches. Perfect location- minutes walk to the Harbour and centre of village. Only have one teeny nitpick, sorry, but with the glorious weather we sat outside a LOT and the courtyard had quite a few weeds! Generally needed a tidy up.Just saying.Other than that everything 10 out of 10. - 19th June 2018
Really impressed with Bega's Bead-extremely homely, well equipped and spacious with 2 lounges and 3 large bedrooms, 2 ensuite (5 adults and a baby staying). We cooked, barbequed and dined on fish and chips-all lovely in open plan central dining space and small courtyard (afternoon sun). Great time had by all-perfectly located for a wealth of attractions-round the corner from main street and shops, good pub (old ship), farne islands, ice cream, beach, mini golf etc.etc! Easy hop to bird sanctuaries, Lindisfarne, alnwick, bamburgh. Stayed over bank holiday/half term -some noise around closing time but really nothing troublesome-good sleep enjoyed by all and a very worthwhile trade off for super location. Thanks for a memorable family holiday! - 7th June 2018
Stayed at this cottage before and loved it. Now even better with ensuite bedrooms. The cottage is clean, comfortable and well kitted out. Location in Seahouses' fishermen's cottages area is great. K9 welcome pack was also much appreciated. Will be returning next year. - 29th May 2018
A fanstatic location in a superb cottage, everything you need is provided - 12th May 2018
We had a fantastic stay at Bega's Bead. The cottage was just perfect and we loved the location. Seahouses is a great spot surrounded by good beaches and we had a brilliant time exploring Alnwick and the castle, Barter Books, Bamborough Castle and the local pubs and chippys! Northumberland is such a beautiful county and we will definitely be back, hopefully to Bega's Bead! Thanks for a lovely holiday. Highly recommended. - 17th April 2018
Had a thoroughly lovely trip as always. Begas bead is a fabulous property in terms of location, minutes from all local ammenities. The accommodation is comfortable and really well equiped, however the layout for us was a little awkward, with the snug going unused (sadly that is where the log burner is) and the under floor heating being a little bit of a pain to regulate-going from either boiling to freezing! Whilst the atrium is a lovely feature it makes the property a little noisy and also you step straight in from the front door so if you have muddy boots etc you are trailing it through the ‘dining area’ to get to the ‘boot store’ not very practical when there are alot of muddy boots! Loved the Ocean Club membership, a lovely addition that was well utilised! - 10th April 2018
Begas bead is a lovely property in the old part of Seahouses, well presented with off road parking for two vehicles. Close to all amenities, including shops, pubs ,harbour, beach etc A great place for a relaxing break , and an ideal base to explore the lovely places Northumbria has to offer So good in fact, that we've already booked our third stay for next year ! - 10th April 2018
Very unique property beautifully presented esp. upstairs. Great location. Perfect for us as our 3 little dogs allowed which we usually struggle to find. They loved it. Local pubs are great too. Great information provided saving need to do any research..would defo book again ! - 20th March 2018
Now our children are grown up with partners and no longer live at home, we wanted to find somewhere special to spend Christmas together. We could not have found anywhere better. Bega''s Bead really was home from home. Perfect in every way. The location was spot on. So close to the harbour, which got our stay off to a perfect start, with a spectacular firework display on Christmas Eve. The house itself had everything you could require, the kitchen was very well equipped, with even a disposable turkey tin with foil and a thermometer provided. The lounge was fantastic for us all to spend time together, with so many books that it would be hard to beat. Such a range of genre too! I particularly liked the snug which was where I went to find a bit of peace and quiet. Having the choice of two separate spaces seemed very indulgent, which was really how Bega''s Bead made you feel. We had a great week there and I would definitely go back. Seahouses is a lovely town with a lot to offer. The walks along the beach to Bamburgh and Beadnell are stunning. - 7th January 2018
From opening the front door Bega’s Bede was a total delight and surprise....Fantastic facilities and so spacious. Loved all the shower/bathroom facilities.....A big plus for me, was being able to take our small 3 dogs to such a high standard level of accommodation.......I would love to return again...thankyou. - 19th November 2017
Excellent property Very welll equipped Warm with great showers Tastefully decorated with a nautical theme Great position in centre of village We had a lovely week with family and friends plus Alfie our dog - 7th November 2017
Although we live in a lovely house in rural Shropshire the day to day commitments and pressures of daily life takes its toll but as soon as we arrive at Bega's Bead after a 6 hours drive the stress melts away., The comfort of the pace with every need catered for is lovely. Tea/coffee - 26th September 2017
Excellent location, handy for take aways, pubs etc. Close to the beach and for going out on boat trips. Next time we go up to Northumberland we will definitely be staying at Bega's Bead. Couldn't fault it at all. Everything you could possibly need and want. The DVD player wouldn't work when we tried it, phoned up and the same day it was replaced. EXCELLENT. - 30th August 2017
Booked this accommodation to cater for my family who were coming with me to celebrate a special birthday, We were so happy as this house was suitable for everybody. the younger generation had their own space and lounge to do what they wanted and the other lounge was great to chill out or watch a different channel on telly. the bedrooms were great with the en-suite's and the kitchen was unbelievable with every utensil, pots, pans, and equipment that you would require, there was not one thing that we needed in that house that was not there. It is in the perfect location for the town, the harbour, and the local pubs. Would not hesitate to book and go back again. - 24th August 2017
An excellent home from home, with everything you could possibly need. Well designed and looked after. Thank you for a lovely stay. - 17th August 2017
We have just spent a fantastic week staying in Bega's Bead, the house is beautiful and with the weather being very poor on a couple of days it was great to have such a well equipped cottage to relax in and wait for the rain to stop. We had every thing we needed and more in the house and with Wifi for the kids and my husband all were very happy and relaxed. We loved walking along North Beach and tried out kayaking and paddle boarding at Beadnell. With so many Castles near by we were never short of an activity or something to go and see. - 1st August 2017
My wife, daughter and I stayed at Seahouse's Bega's Bead Cottage Northumbria for a week in July 2017. Bega's Bead is a very lovely cottage, maintained to a high spec in a great location. I would definitely recommend this cottage. The only thing I would say is the courtyard and outside furniture were dirty and needed cleaning before use. - 20th July 2017
The cottage was extremely well presented in side and out. We had everything we required as a family and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I look forward to staying again. - 11th July 2017
This was our second visit to Seahouses but first time staying at Bega's Bead the cottage was just perfect meeting our every needs. The interior space was well equipped, airy, spacious and bright throughout with a good open layout perfect for our week long stay. The weather was mixed however when the sun did come out we did manage breakfast alfresco and the odd glass of wine sitting out in the small but perfectly sized courtyard which is definitely a sun trap throughout the day and early evening.. The location of the property couldn't have been better with several beaches within walking distance or a short drive away up or down the Northumberland Coast; my young dog loved his daily walks in the rain or sunshine. Hats off to the owner for letting such a wonderful property my partner and I had a superb week's stay at Bega's Bead. - 4th July 2017
This is the second time we've stayed at this property and all I can say is that its top notch. I'd definitely recommend the property to others, as the owners have spent a great deal of money and lots of care and attention to ensure all their guests enjoy their stay and that's just what we did enjoy our family holiday. I'd definitely chose the accommodation again if we return to Seahouses, and considering we've been visiting this beautiful seaside resort for more than twenty years this is an excellent recommendation. If you do book the property, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. - 11th May 2017
We found Bega's Bead to be far more comfortable and welcoming than expected and it had everything we needed and more, being clean and warm. The location was lovely despite the very cold winds that we experienced, although we still had great walks on the many beautiful beaches nearby. It was great to return to a lovely bright cottage. - 9th May 2017
Bega's Bead offered quality home comforts, was really well equipped and more than met our expectations. - 29th March 2017
Just back from our stay at Bega's Bead, and I have to say it's a lovely cottage in a great location. The cottage is very welcoming and equipped with everything you need for your holiday, we were very pleased with the cottage and would recommend to friends and family. Seahouses is a lovely town with it's working harbour and plenty of friendly pubs, also a good location to explore the local area which has lots of interesting place close by. - 22nd March 2017
We often visit Northumbria and stay with family, but with growing children, we wanted some more space to ourselves, Bega's Bead had more than enough space for us to spread out with the boys having their own bedrooms/bathrooms. It is beautifully furnished with everything we needed (and more). Very comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms - one for each bedroom. Two lovely living rooms with comfy sofas. Lovely big kitchen. Enjoyed the underfloor heating in December! Even our dog was well catered for with a bowl and treats provided. Lovely mince pie treats on arrival for us too! There was a small Christmas tree to make it feel festive (would have been nice to have a bigger tree and some fairy lights). The location is great for the harbour, beach and local shops and it was lovely seeing the stars through the skylight windows. Seahouses is a great location for exploring the Northumbrian coast including Bamburgh, Holy Island, Alnwick Gardens etc and further in-land. We will definitely consider staying at Bega's Bead again and would highly recommend to others. Perfect! - 27th December 2016
The weather was not kind to us during our stay in November but the cottage with its underfloor heating provided a very warm and cosy welcome after trips out. The facilities offered are excellent with space for everyone, (6 adults and 2 babies) a well equipped kitchen, bathrooms and lounge with games and books. The only negative is that there is parking for only 2 cars although it is only a few minutes walk to find street parking. - 22nd November 2016
We were overwhelmed by how well equipped this cottage was. The owners have thought of everything in making it a real home from home. The house was warm and was well positioned for all the local services. Dog friendly, even down to the doggy welcome packs which Cariad and Tegan enjoyed. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. - 16th November 2016
The cottage has everything you could possibly need, the location is perfect, and the service we received from stay Northumbria was excellent. - 19th October 2016
This is an amazing property. The weather was very wet for most of the week but as Bega's Bead was so comfortable this did not detract from our enjoyment. The home is so very well equipped there was nothing missing and the log fire was a big bonus to relax by and listen to the rain! Seahouses is a great base with plenty of shops for most needs. We would recommend St Aidan's Bistro in Seahouses (it has limited opening so check website), the food is delicious and very fresh. - 19th October 2016
This house was stunning on entering the pictures didn't do it justice. The kitchen was fully equipped with anything you would need with both a single fridge and American type fridge freezer . The bedrooms were clean and tastefully decorated. Two double ensuite ( one could be changed to a twin) and a twin with a family bathroom with bath. The two rooms downstairs had traditional furniture with a good sized tv in the large room. There was table and chairs outside as well as a bbq for good weather. - 5th October 2016
The house was in a brilliant position for walking ~ eating out ~ shopping ~ boat trips and touring .My daughter visited Edinburgh. The house was comfortable, well stocked with everything you needed from dog treats and towels to kitchen with every utensil needed and a starter of tea/coffee/sugar.Car parking and a secure court yard for the "doggie" children was also a bonus. It was renovated to a very high standard with a lot of thought going into what was done. Will visit again ~ wish it was closer !! - 13th September 2016
Great place, excellent location and enough parking space for our 2 cars. Very comfy and certainly the best equipped cottage we have stayed in. We felt at home immediately and would thoroughly recommend to anyone. - 8th September 2016
We had a great holiday in a fabulous house which was so well equipped with everything a family would need. We had a problem with the door lock but this was sorted out quickly for us by Jackie. We would recommend both the house and the company to anyone. - 17th August 2016
We had a very comfortable stay in this property. It was equipedto the highest standard and seemed newly refurbished and decorated. We had two young children in our group and they had a lovely time enjoying the spacious lounges and the games that were available. It is located close to all the facilities in Seahouses, but was in a quiet street that is part of the older area of the town. - 10th August 2016
The best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Beautifully decorated and furnished, very spacious, excellent location just a short stroll from the harbour. Incredibly well equipped so that even if it had rained all week there was plenty to keep us occupied - games, jigsaws, dvds, huge selection of books, enormous kitchen with every utensil you could possibly want. Loved waking every morning looking up at the sky through the skylights in the bedroom, and enjoyed eating in the little courtyard garden, although we didn't get to use the barbeque. There were 4 of us staying, but there was plenty of room for 6 or 8, with ample bathrooms and 2 lounges. Seahouses is a lovely village with plenty of shops and places to eat. The harbour has trips to the Farne Islands to see all the seabird colonies and seals, which was the highlight of our trip, but there is so much else to see in the area with beautiful beaches, numerous castles and stunning countryside. A week was definitely not enough and we look forward to going back. - 16th July 2016
It was our first time taking the dog on holiday which was important to us. The cottage was amazing with all facilities you would need for a group of people. The spacious bedrooms, bathrooms and lounges were a bonus. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and as I had my elderly mother with us so was easier to eat in most nights as she was tired from all the sightseeing throughout the day. The cottage is located within walking distance of all amenities and the harbour where you can go on the trips to the islands. No hesitation in booking again. Ideal for a group of people or a large family. - 13th July 2016
The cottage was very comfortable, well equipped and in a perfect location for us, just minutes from the sea front and town centre. Ideal for the dogs with the outside space. We have had a fabulous holiday and would definitely recommend Bega's Bead. - 29th June 2016
We all had a lovely stay here, the master room is great with the wet room, its very quiet too. We enjoyed the bbq and sitting with a glass off wine in the courtyard of an evening. Making our own dinner was easy, I've never seen a kitchen with so much equipment! There are plenty of nice places to eat too, Bamburgh Castle has fantastic views in the beer garden. Its a great location, close to the town, pubs etc and only a short walk to the beach. A fantastic week, thankyou, we would definately return!! - 22nd June 2016
The house was lovely and comfortable, my husband was extremely impressed with the large screen TV in the lounge! I only have 2 slight criticisms - the first being that there were no spare binliners and the other is that there was no dishcloth in the kitchen. Other than that the cottage was very well equipped. - 22nd June 2016
Cottage is comfortable and in a great location, plenty of space for six and two dogs. Very good shops for local produce, nice Indian for meal out, Italian at the back of the High Street also good. Beaches are wonderful, fantastic walks and rock pools to explore. Can't fault the area and people very friendly. Staff at Staynorthumbria are excellent, this is the 5th holiday I have booked through them and I have booked Begas Bead again for next year...... what more can I say!! - 15th June 2016
WOW! This place deserves it's excellent ratings that's for sure! As a self-proclaimed 'holiday snob', I am not easily pleased but this little gem ticked all of the boxes and more. The attention to detail was fantastic and extra touches meant that you were left wanting for nothing. We knew upon booking that we were close to the beach for our four legged family members but didn't realise just how close, it was an excellent location for both beach and cliff walks. The facilities in the cottage all worked perfectly and made for a very comfy and relaxing stay which we thoroughly enjoyed and would have no hesitation in returning here in future. All in all it's a big thank you to Bega's Bead for a lovely short break. - 3rd May 2016
We were delighted with Bega's Bead. The photos online are beautiful but the house itself is even better! The decor is gorgeous and the furniture very comfortable. It is very spacious (we were 4 adults and 2 children) and is equipped with everything, and more, that you would need. Absolutely recommend a stay here, we are already planning a return visit. - 22nd April 2016
Everything about the cottage was better than expected. Only felt that the cottage was too warm - 19th April 2016
We spent a very enjoyable week at Bega's Bead. The house is very well-appointed and was superbly presented when we arrived. It has virtually everything you could want from holiday accommodation and is barely a two-minute walk from the seafront at Seahouses. Very highly recommended. - 6th November 2015
Our family enjoyed a week's stay at Seahouses. The house was lovely with everything you could need catered for. Not a lot to do in Seahouses but the beach was fantastic, especially for our dog Charlie. - 28th October 2015
4 of us (no pets) stayed in the property. We enjoyed and used both sitting rooms (rugby world cup on tv). The weather was fantastic all week (last week of Sept). It is only a short walk to the harbour - so often popped down to see the sunset. Stars and the eclipse of the moon were visible from the balcony (through the atrium glass). Walks along the beach in both directions were a delight. We also visited Holy Island and Cragside. - 8th October 2015
We booked Bega's Bead so that we could explore Some of Northumberkand and it came up trumps. It was comfy, cosy and well laid out. We'd definitely consider basing ourselves there in the future. - 26th September 2015
We loved our recent stay at Bega’s Bead in Seahouses. The place was beautifully renovated, tastefully furnished and very well maintained. We especially appreciated the comfortable beds and pillows! The house is very spacious and easily accommodated four adults and one large dog! It was also a real find having somewhere so close to Seahouses’ main street, with off-street parking and a lovely private patio garden - where we had breakfast. The old quarter is very picturesque and all the local amenities were within walking distance, including a Co-op for food shopping and a couple of nice pubs overlooking the harbour. The local beaches are superb - our dog loved those and we really appreciated how dog-friendly everwhere is. Seahouses is a great location for day trips out all over Northumbria and Bega's Bead was a wonderful place to come home to and chill out every evening. the five of us had a marvellous time. - 15th July 2015
We stayed at Bega's Bead as a base whilst assisting our son to move house. It proved to be a wonderful haven of comfort and luxury after a hard days painting! It was warm, very well equipped with plenty of hot water, comfortable beds, soft towels. The kitchen had ample equipment for cooking and serving meals and the proximity of the shops was a great help. In fact I think the Coop may be missing us this week! Looking forward to returning to explore the area and relaxing in style in the cottage. - 17th May 2015
A wonderful, highly maintained, beautifully furnished holiday rental 5 mins to the harbour and main street. We did not want for anything at all! The kitchen was very well equipped, super storage space and fridge space. Beautiful bedding and towels included in price and comfortable bed. Highly recommended property. - 29th April 2015
