This delightful and romantic little 19th century fisherman's cottage lies just 60 metres from a clean sandy beach in the picturesque seaside hamlet of Low Hauxley where a few boats still fish for lobsters and crabs. Attractive, cosy and atmospheric with its exposed stone walls, co-ordinated colours and fabrics and comfortable furnishings, it provides a holiday base of the very highest standard throughout. The small enclosed rear garden is sheltered, a lovely place to relax on the decking and enjoy a barbecue. Low Hauxley is located on the Heritage Coast to the north of Druridge Bay, a 4 mile stretch of mature sand dunes and beautiful white sands which incorporates Druridge Bay Country Park and several nature reserves. 1.5 miles north, at the mouth of the River Coquet is the small town of Amble which has a fishing fleet and marina. Amble Harbour Village, a new quayside development has attractive retail pods selling bespoke crafts, a seafood centre and an excellent seafood restaurant and Bistro. From here it is possible to take a boat trip around Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve a mile or so off shore, famous for its Puffins and rare Roseate Terns.

The cottage is warm, spacious and well equipped - more like a home than a holiday cottage. We had a great time and hope to return.

We have had a brilliant week -our second visit this year. The weather has been kind - dry and sunny, lighting up the colours in this beautiful landscape. We were most impressed by the newly opened Visitor Centre at Hauxley Nature Reserve: very well planned. Watch the birds and drink a cuppa in comfort. Thank you for the welcome drinks - much appreciated - and all the thoughtful touches in this lovely cottage. We look forward to our next visit.

So glad we found your little cottage and Low Hauxley: both charming. We did so much but still have more to see and do. Thank you for trusting us with your home.

This was our third stay at Lobster Pot cottage and was perfect to use as a base for our wedding at Bamburgh Castle. We have had some lovely times here and have fallen for the area so much that we are locating! Thanks for sharing your beautiful cottage.
