Morpeth Area Holiday Cottages
Morpeth is the county town of Northumberland, filled with history and heritage and is a great location for a holiday with the family or a short break.
Morpeth has so much to offer its visitors. For those who enjoy learning about the history of a place, there is a 13th Century Chantry which is home to the Bagpipe Museum and the Northumbrian Arts and Crafts Gallery full to the brim with traditional and contemporary art. The town has fantastic shopping facilities and a great selection of independent restaurants, cafes and bars.
A Farmer’s Market runs from the Market Place on the first Saturday of every month and Carlisle Park, not far from the town centre, has lovely woodland footpaths to explore, boating along the river, and tennis and bowls courts.
Whitehouse Farm Centre, not far from Morpeth is the perfect day out for families and animal lovers. Visitors can meet a wide variety of animals including goats, rabbits, meerkats and marmosets, feed the animals or go on tractor rides or try indoor car racing.
The Northumberland coast and countryside are both within easy reach which makes the Morpeth area and its surroundings the ideal location for a holiday. Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens, Druridge Bay, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea and the Northumberland National Park are only a short drive away.
Both the market town of Alnwick and the city of Newcastle Upon Tyne are both a 30 minute drive. Morpeth has great public transport links with buses to the coast and a train which runs directly to Newcastle.
