Dating from about 1630, this characterful cottage has been renovated to provide very cosy accommodation retaining much old world charm with features such as beamed ceilings, stripped floors, stone walls and the remains of the old stairway turret. Set in an off road, secluded, wooded valley and nestling within the owners specialist alpine nursery garden just over 1 mile from Alston, this is an ideal and peaceful base for walking in the South Tyne Valley and North Pennines, increasingly referred to as "England's Last Wilderness". The surrounding area abounds with footpaths and bridleways and the Pennine Way passes close by. Hadrian's Wall, the Lake District, Weardale, Teesdale and the beautiful and largely undiscovered Eden Valley are all within easy reach. The picturesque town of Alston provides a range of shops, craft galleries, coffee shops and pubs.
Access is via external steps to First floor - Small balcony with door to dining kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.
