Description
This imposing 17th Century town house stands prominently in the centre of Alston, the highest market town in England. Having been newly refurbished, Lantern House has been transformed into a contemporary styled four storey period holiday home with a boutique feel. It is ideally suited to a large family, families and friends meeting up or groups to enjoy a restful holiday as the second and third floor each have 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Kids will love having their own sitting room with a TV, video games, plenty of toys and board games to keep them entertained on the first floor, while the adults can chill out in the stylish, tastefully decorated ground floor lounge. Alston has a good range of shops selling local produce, cafes and pubs all a short walk from the front door. From here you can tour the vast open expanses of the North Pennines, moorland designated an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and the northern region of the Lake District including Rheged at Penrith and Ullswater. Visit the many Roman Forts and Museums along the length of Hadrian's Wall. Steam trains run along a narrow gauge line winding northwards from Alston Station throughout the year taking visitors on an excursion lasting half an hour along the South Tynedale Railway line. Walking, mountain biking and golf are available locally.

ACCESS GUIDE
ACCESS
There is unreserved car parking in the Market Place and it is possible to park within a few metres of the front door.
The Market place and Front Street have old cobbles and it is on a steep incline so is not wheelchair or less able friendly.
Immediately outside the entrance there are sandstone paving slabs which are reasonably level.
GROUND FLOOR
There is a study, lounge and utility room which contains a toilet and wash basin on the ground floor.
UPPER FLOORS
The house has three upper levels accessed by three staircases.
The first floor includes the kitchen/dining room and play room.
The second floor include a double bedroom, small double bedroom and bathroom.
The third floor includes a double bedroom, bunk bedroom and bathroom.
STAIRS AND DOORS
The stairs are 850mm wide and the doors are all 838mm wide.
Stair gates are provided at each level when requested
ELELCTRCIAL
The light switches and socket outlets have all been installed to current building regulations.
