Description

Nestled in the tiny hamlet of Eals by the banks of the South Tyne River, across the bridge from Knarsdale. The Chapel has been meticulously converted from a former chapel into a romantic retreat. The cottage oozes charm and character and provides the perfect bolt hole for those wishing to escape the hustle of modern life and spend a well-earned break relaxing and reflecting upon life. The baby grand piano in the lounge will appeal to budding musicians. Right from the front door there are endless routes for walking with both the Pennine Way and the South Tyne Trail literally on the doorstep. Nature lovers can enjoy sitting in the garden watching the array of wildlife living in the surrounding woodland and fields. Alston and Haltwhistle are both 7 miles and offer a good selection of shops selling local produce, gift shops, pubs and cafes. The town of Alston is renowned for being the highest market town in England at 1000 feet above sea level. It is an intriguing town with cobbled streets and the fascinating South Tyne Railway with Steam Trains running along a single track narrow gauge line. The area around Alston is part of the North Pennines which has been designated an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', a unique landscape of moorland, hills, rivers and waterfalls.
