Tynemouth, Whitley Bay & North Shields Area Holiday Cottages
Tynemouth is a popular seaside village steeped in history, with beautiful views of the coast and a lot for families, groups and couples to do while on holiday. It is filled with independent shops, traditional pubs, restaurants and cafes. Tynemouth Priory and Castle Dominates the headland, and below that is the famous Riley’s Fish Shack which serves the local catches of the day and customers can enjoy their food sat in deck chairs on the sandy beach.
Tynemouth is also a recognised hub for watersports, so the adventurous amongst us can have a go at surfing. Long Sands Beach is a mile of golden sands which offers a great walk along the coast, with the promenade taking you to North Shields Fish Quay.
North Shields is a historic working fish quay on the north bank of the River Tyne, located in a designated conservation area. This small village is enclosed by two piers and backed by cliffs, and has a working Victorian lifeboat station and fisherman’s watch house. Visitors can enjoy the fresh catch of the day and for those who enjoy walking, it isn’t far from the eastern end of Hadrian’s Wall.
Whitley Bay is another coastal town which is a fantastic place for family outings. There is plenty to do in Whitley Bay including mini golf, arcades, walks along the beach, and guests are urged to try the award-winning fish and chips, and ice cream.
