Situated on the edge of the National Park in the village of Thropton and adjacent to the lovely garden of Wreighburn House to which the cottage is attached. Wreighburn Cottage has its own private entrance and garden set in 23 acres of Parkland. The Cottage is very well equipped, warm and with plenty to do within the grounds including 700 metres of private fishing, tennis court and pavilion with table tennis, a paddock which can be used for football, badminton, boules and a summer room for al fresco dining. Guests can also use the parkland for riverside picnics. The garden is fully enclosed. The setting is tranquil with stunning views of the Coquet valley and Simonside Hills. There is an abundance of wildlife including red squirrels, deer, otters and kingfishers. Fishing is free to our clients (rod licence required) making the cottage particularly attractive to fishermen in September and October when there is an Autumn Salmon run on the Coquet. The area is popular with walkers and cyclists. The cottage is conveniently situated for easy access to all the attractions Northumberland has to offer; two miles from the National Trust's Cragside Estate and 5 miles from the Wallington Estate. 15 miles from Alnwick Castle and Gardens. 18 miles east is the coast, Bamburgh Castle and the Farne Islands and 18 miles west is Keilder with its many recreations. Holy Island and Hadrian's Wall are 25 miles away. For groups wishing to walk St Oswald's or St. Cuthbert's Way transport can be arranged daily for drop-offs and pick-ups.

Paddock with goal posts, tennis court pavilion and table tennis. 3 ponds on parkland. Off road parking. Pubs and restaurant within a short walk. PO 2 miles in Rothbury. Duvets with linen and towels. Electric blankets provided in winter months. Pets by arrangement @ £15 per pet per week.
A "Good Housekeeping" deposit of £100 required.

Note: ** Deposit is one third of total rent. A booking fee including VAT is chargeable at £ 25.00 per booking. Short breaks are a minimum of 3 nights charged at two thirds of the weekly price. 4th night charged at 15% of the weekly price. For breaks of 5 or 6 nights please contact us for pricing. Short breaks can only be booked with the owners consent and cannot usually be booked far in advance. **
